Demand Justice For Flotilla Attack And Murder Of Furkan Doğan

Dear Concerned Global Citizens,

Three years ago today, the Israeli navy intercepted a flotilla of ships in international waters that were attempting to break Israel’s illegal blockade and deliver humanitarian goods to the Gaza Strip. Israeli commandos stormed the ships and killed eight Turkish citizens and 18-year-old U.S. citizen Furkan Doğan aboard the Mavi Marmara.

Please sign the petition for a U.S. investigation into the killing of Furkan Doğan.

The U.N. Human Rights Council chillingly documented Israel’s “extra-legal, arbitrary, and summary execution” of Furkan; according to forensic analysis, the shot to Furkan’s face was at point blank range and was compatible with the shot being received while he was lying on his back on the ground. But instead of investigating Furkan’s killing and holding Israel accountable, documents obtained by CCR through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit show that the Obama administration tried to undermine international efforts to investigate the incident and deferred to Israel’s investigation—which exonerated all of the Israeli soldiers involved and failed to provide any details regarding Furkan’s killing.

Please see our new blog for more information.

Earlier this month, Furkan Doğan’s father, Prof. Ahmet Doğan met with Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss his request for the United States to investigate Furkan’s killing. Secretary Kerry promised to deliver letters from Professor Doğan and from CCR to President Obama to this effect. Let’s support Prof. Doğan by showing him that thousands of us in the U.S. agree that the U.S. should investigate his son’s killing and hold those responsible accountable.

We hope to deliver our petition with at least 20,000 signatures to the White House in June.
Thank you for your continued support.
