UCSC Divest

Dear Sami,

Tomorrow night is a historic moment for Santa Cruz: At 8pm, the UCSC Student Union Assembly will consider a bill put forth by the UCSC Committee for Justice in Palestine (CJP) calling for divestment from companies profiting from the Israeli occupation.

CJP is requesting community members to attend!

When: TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 27 at 8PM

Where: Merrill Cultural Center (a short walk behind Banana Joe's Cafe -- the room with all the flags in it)

What: Attend to show support for divestment and consider testifying. Testimonies are 2 minutes each.

UCSC is the latest in a series of student divestment initiatives sweeping the nation, challenging Israel's occupation and apartheid policies and catching the attention of the world.

Will you be there to be a part of history?
Thank you for being one of the powerful!
People power can change the world!

  1. I am glad that your group exists. I am so corncneed that the hate groups are spiraling out of control and that right wing neocons who denigrate Islam and call for war with Iran are going to destroy us all. Hate breeds hate and makes America unsafe for everybody. I can’t help but think that the increasing gun violence is related to the inflammatory hate speech and billboard campaigns by extremists such as Pam Geller. They seem to think it’s a zero sum game. If they denigrate Islam, they think they’ll be safe. It never works that way. Hate tends to explode and has devastating and unintended consequences, as people in that mindset lash out.
